GOLF IN BERKSHIRE

The golf courses in Berkshire are superb and vary from classic championship heathland courses such as The Berkshire, modern parkland courses such as Donnington Grove, to private members golf clubs such as Castle Royle. There are some quality golf clubs near Reading, and Newbury, the two major towns in Berkshire, for example Newbury & Crookham, and Reading. One of the home counties, Berkshire is bordered by Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Wiltshire, and Hampshire, but there are also a number of golf clubs near London within the county, such as Royal Ascot. There are some major amateur golf events that take place in the county, such as The Berkshire Trophy, and there is even a golf club near Windsor Castle called The Royal Household where Royals are said to be fond of a round or two.
