GOLF IN DURHAM

Most of the golf courses in Durham are in the north of the county, but there are some excellent parkland golf courses in the south, such as Dinsdale Spa, Blackwell Grange, and Barnard Castle. The northern golf courses in Durham are excellent, Seaton Crew, for example, was designed by Alistair Mackenzie. The county is bordered by Northumberland, Yorkshire, and Cumbria, and there are plenty of attractive golf courses near Newcastle and County Durham. There are also fine opportunities for a golfing holiday in Durham, with the golf courses and facilities at Ramside Hall Hotel offering everything a visitor could want. There are also other ‘must play’ golf clubs in Durham, such as Brancepeth Castle, Consett & District, and Chester-le-Street, and it is no surprise that the region is becoming increasingly popular for visiting golfers.
