GOLF IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

Within the 32 golf courses in Nottinghamshire there are excellent opportunities for beginners to play at the public golf courses such as Trent Lock, and Mansfield, but there are also some stern challenges provided by the heathland golf course at Notts, or Hollinwell as it is often known. Another quality heathland golf course in Nottinhamshire is at Worksop, home to Lee Westwood. It is unsurprising that there are a number of woodland golf courses in Nottinghamshire given the size of Sherwood Forest. Golf clubs such as Retford, Rushcliffe, and of course Sherwood Forest, are all fine examples. The county is bordered by Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, and Derbyshire, and there are a number of fine parkland golf courses near Nottingham, the county town. Some of these golf courses like Beeston Fields, and Mapperley for example, should certainly be on your list if you are planning a visit to the area.
