GOLF IN WEST MIDLANDS

Many of the golf courses in the West Midlands are formally in the counties of Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Few golf clubs in the West Midlands actually use the region in their address, but there are some excellent championship golf courses, including well-known venues such as The Belfry and Fulford Heath, that are located within the area. Unsurprisingly, as Britain's second largest conurbation, the West Midlands' golf courses are found outside the urbanised cities of Birmingham, Wolverhampton and the large towns of Dudley, Solihull, Walsall and West Bromwich. Many of the parkland golf courses lie in the green belt that separates the metropolis from Coventry to the East. The West Midlands is an excellent base for a golf break, whether looking for a luxury stay at the likes of Forest of Arden, or good value at the dozens of local golf clubs that welcome visitors in the area.
