With over 50 golf courses in Staffordshire, it is no surprise that there are a number of championship golf courses such as Little Aston, and Beau Desert that have held major amateur golf tournaments. There are also good public golf courses in Staffordshire, such as Calderfields. Famous designers such as James Braid have influenced many golf clubs in Staffordshire, like the heathland golf course at Enville, and the parkland golf course at Greenway Hall. There are also a number of golf courses near Stoke-on-Trent such as Keele, and Wolstanton. The county is bordered by Cheshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and Shropshire. Visiting golfers can enjoy the delightful parkland golf course at Lichfiield, and heathland course at Whittington Heath. Staffordshire is certainly a superb golfing destination.
