The Club, founded in 1896, has gone through many changes in its history, none bigger than the recent opening of 7 new holes and the construction of a new clubhouse. This evolution will make Chippenham a great option for all golfers whether it is membership, visiting golfers or societies. The three newly constructed holes are real feature holes and provide further interest to the layout. This is combined with a very friendly, welcoming and relaxed feel.
We are very proud of our course maintenance, particularly the greens which constantly get great reviews. On the whole you will find narrow fairways with small well bunkered greens. The par three holes are quite testing, with the 2nd, 11th and 13th being the trickiest.

With the introduction of seven new holes, our superbly maintained course has improved dramatically over recent years. Measuring 6,414 yards from the back tees, the premium at Chippenham is placed on accuracy and patience, in order to fashion a good score. The more established section of the golf course requires placement and thought, while the seven new holes allow you to open the shoulders a little. Being on the smaller side, the greens provide a good defence, and you are guaranteed a smooth and consistent roll. The course is gently undulating, and the newer holes offer stunning views over the Wiltshire countryside. Water comes into play on three of these holes. The drop hole Par 3, 13th is particularly memorable. With five par 3’s and five par 5’s there is plenty of variety in the layout.
