Former home of the Pemberton family, Ramside Hall was transformed into a hotel back in 1963. It is now the largest privately-owned luxury hotel in County Durham.
The Prince Bishop golf course opened for play in 1996, and is rated amongst the top courses in the North East of England. More recently, the Cathedral course opened in September 2014.
Parkland in nature and featuring numerous water features, Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club is one of England's most exciting risk and reward golf resorts.

The Prince Bishops Course is now established as one of the best golf courses in North East England. Opened in 1996, the par 72 course enjoys views of world famous Durham Cathedral, and features 16 water hazards, reachable par 5’s, driveable par 4’s, and fantastic short holes. Designer Jonathan Gaunt laid out a true risk and reward golf course. but the course is fair. The fairways are wide and generous and there is a conservative option available on every hole.

Not AvailableOpened in September 2014, the Cathedral Course at Ramside Hall is England’s newest golf course. The 7,200 yard layout has been built on rolling countryside between the villages of Belmont and Pittington. It enjoys breath-taking natural features including ridges, becks and valleys, and extends out over a broad hilltop with views towards Durham Cathedral and Angel of the North. Dramatic elevation changes, mature trees, and steep banking are a constant feature throughout.
