The Clubhouse, Station Road, Silloth, Wigton, Cumbria, England, CA7 4AE

Situated on the linksland west of the docks at Silloth, Wigton, Cumbria, the golf course at Silloth on Solway has evolved significantly over time. David Grant laid out the original course, with later contributions from Dr Alister MacKenzie and Willie Park Junior.
A number of blind holes are still in play, and there is a source of uncertainty, surprise and occasional delight for golfers playing the famous links.
Iconic holes include: the ninth, a par 3 played from an elevated tee; the par 5 thirteenth; and the 18th that requires an accurate drive to the fairway, and a long approach.
The fairways play over the springiest of Cumbrian turf, and their undulating features meander through the dunes offering a true test of links golf.

A number of blind holes are still in play, and there is a source of uncertainty, surprise and occasional delight for golfers playing the famous links. Iconic holes include: the ninth, a par 3 played from an elevated tee that looks down on a small island green with a steep fall off to the right, that is protected to the front and side by an array of deep bunkers; the signature par 5 thirteenth, which requires a drive over gorse to a deceptively wide fairway and a tight second through a narrow gully that plays along an angled slope that deflects all but the most accurate of approaches to an elevated green; and the final hole, that requires an accurate drive on to a sloping fairway, and a long approach in to the green under the critical gaze of those in the Clubhouse bar. The fairways play over the springiest of Cumbrian turf, and their undulating features meander through the dunes offering a true test of links golf to all.
