There are 33 golf clubs in Leicestershire that include some well known private members golf clubs like Kenilworth Springs, home to Gary Wolstenholme MBE, and the superb heathland golf course at Luffenham Heath. The James Braid designed Charnwood Forest is another superb golf course in Leicestershire, but there are several other worth noting. Not least, the golf courses near Leicester, such as Oadby, Whetstone, and Kirby Muxloe. The landlocked county is bordered by Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, and Northamptonshire. Rutland Water is a new championship parkland golf course and certainly worth a visit, but the traditional golf courses in Leicestershire such as Glen Gorse, and Six Hills are highly enjoyable as well.
