Superstar DJ Hosts Trevor Nelson Swing At Shire London
One of the original superstar DJs is returning to Barnet golf club The Shire London next month to stage his second ‘nightclub on a golf course’ event for male cancer charity Orchid.
Trevor Nelson MBE, the award-winning broadcaster and pioneer of the UK urban music scene, hosts the second annual ‘Trevor Nelson Swing’ on Friday 19th June 2015, on the Ballesteros Masters Course at The Shire London on St Albans Road.
“If you couldn’t make it last year, you will never have experienced a golf day like this before” said Nelson, a four-time MOBO winner for Best DJ. “This will be 2015’s coolest golf event, and we hope to raise plenty for Orchid on the day”.
Two nightclub stations, each with their own licensed bar, will pump smooth tunes from Nelson’s latest albums across the golf course while competitors battle to break par. Additional sound systems on the clubhouse patio and at the driving range will create extra atmosphere.
Players are expected to dress to impress. Jeans can be worn in this laid-back event, although golfers will need to wear their normal golf shoes, and a shirt with a collar.
There are prizes for longest drive and nearest the pin, and golfers can also enter a Beat The Pro contest on the 7th hole by making a donation to Orchid.
Entry fees are £349 per fourball, which includes breakfast and a 2-course post-golf meal.
All entrants will also receive a Gift Pack containing a free golf shirt and Nelson’s latest stunning triple compilation album The Trevor Nelson Collection 3, signed personally by him on the day.
After the golf there’s a meal in the clubhouse where the musical theme will continue, and Trevor Nelson himself will be giving out the prizes.
“We had 90 local golfers take part last year” said Nelson, “so this year we are going all-out to top that, and I can guarantee it’ll be one of the most memorable times you’ve ever had on the golf course!”
