Individual scorecards rarely receive the level of public scrutiny that they did last week. At one end of the scale, the phenomenal efforts of Jim Furyk at the BMW Championship in Chicago on Friday lead to only the sixth ever sub -60 round on the PGA Tour. With 11 birdies and an eagle, Furyk’s score of 59 came about as close to golfing perfection as humanly possible – even if, amazingly, there was still room for one bogey blemish on the card! The Road To Gleneagles

It’s still a little over a year before the golfing world descends on Gleneagles for the 2014 Ryder Cup matches, but this week marks the start of the qualification process at The ISPS Handa Wales Open.  I’m sure the European players at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday at The Celtic Manor Resort, host venue for the last Ryder Cup on British soil, won’t be able to stop their mind skipping forwards a year.  The dream begins here.
