Highland Golf Links Ready For Tomatin Single Malt Pro-Am

More than 200 golfers from across the UK and Europe will tee off next week in a prestigious event over three of the Highlands’ leading links courses.

The annual Tomatin Single Malt 54-Hole Pro-Am will be held from 28-30 September at Castle Stuart Golf Links, The Nairn Golf Club and Royal Dornoch Golf Club.

In all, 52 teams of four from Scotland, England, Wales, Switzerland and Denmark are taking part in what is now an established and much-anticipated event in the golfing calendar.

Each quartet includes a leading pro from the Professional Golfers’ Association Scotland Order of Merit who will play alongside local business people as well as tour operators.

This Tartan Tour event, which is now in its fourth year and boasts a professional prize fund of £40,000, will see teams compete over the three courses which are all partners in Highland Golf Links which promotes golfing breaks in the area.

Stephen Bremner, sales director at Tomatin, said: “We are delighted to again be sponsoring this renowned event played over three magnificent links courses.

“The mix of a quality golfing experience and spectacular scenery is the ideal showcase for the Highlands and is a perfect fit for us and our markets at home and abroad.”

Castle Stuart Golf Links will host the Scottish Open in 2016 for the fourth time in six years

Nairn Golf Club, which hosted the Walker Cup in 1999 and the Curtis Cup in 2012, will also be home to the 2016 Home Internationals competition and in 2017 it will welcome the Boys Amateur Championship

Royal Dornoch’s Championship Course is one of the top ranked courses in the world and recently won plaudits for its hosting of the Jacques Leglise Trophy, the annual amateur boys’ team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe.

The Highland Golf Links partnership also includes the Kingsmills Hotel and Culloden House Hotel, Inverness and the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch. The group offers attractive packages for visitors to enjoy the finest links golf and luxury accommodation while exploring a unique and beautiful part of Scotland.
