QHotels On Course For Top Golf Charity Role In 2016

QHotels is leading golf’s drive to raise money for Britain’s injured Armed Forces personnel and veterans after announcing On Course Foundation (OCF) as its official golf charity partner for 2016.

The UK’s largest golf resort operator will be at the forefront of fundraising activities next year for OCF – the only dedicated golf charity supporting the recovery of wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans – as part of its long-term commitment to growing the game at all levels.

As well as being the charity of choice for many of the club captains across QHotels’ group of 11 golf resorts in 2016/17, the AA Hotel Group of the Year 2014/15 will also be the foundation’s preferred golf academy and hotel partner next year, hosting up to six skills events.

OCF helps individuals, both serving and ex, who were injured, sick or wounded to rebuild their lives by giving them the opportunity to play the game and gain employment in the golf industry.

Providing monthly, nationwide familiarisation golf skills and employment events for its members, the organisation then offers practical training through work experience placements for those who wish to pursue a career in golf.

“It is a great honour for QHotels to be associated with On Course Foundation in this new partnership,” said John Angus, group director of golf for QHotels.

“I was tremendously impressed with the incredible work that the foundation does when it first came to my attention at a golf day earlier this year.

“Golf is a great industry for helping people to rebuild their lives, and we’re delighted that QHotels has been given this opportunity to raise money for such a noteworthy cause.”

Steve Holt, managing director for On Course Foundation, said: “With many of our members lacking self-belief, it’s been our aim to help them realise their potential within the golf industry and set them on a fulfilling career path. QHotels is a great partner for us and we are delighted to have them involved and look forward to a long, fruitful relationship.”

QHotels features a host of prestigious venues including Slaley Hall in Northumberland; Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort in north Lincolnshire and Mottram Hall in Cheshire, in its portfolio.

The multi-award-winning, four and five-star golf group offers tournament and championship-standard courses in 11 unique resort locations across England and Scotland.
