Breadsall Priory Members Receive Prestigious Positions In County Junior Golf

Breadsall Priory, a Marriott Hotel and Country Club on the outskirts of Breadsall in Derbyshire, would like to congratulate two of its members on their newly appointed roles within the county junior organising teams.

Both active members at the Marriott venue, Paul Smith and Alice Lowe, have been selected for roles within the Derbyshire Union of Golf Clubs (DUGC) and Derbyshire Ladies County Golf Association (DLCGA) to support the county’s ever growing junior contingent.

Assuming the role of County Junior Delegate within the DUGC is Paul Smith. As current Junior Organiser at Breadsall Priory, Paul is familiar with the workings of a flourishing junior section and hopes to use his experience to benefit his time with the county:

“Alice and I are committed to furthering the development of Junior golf in Derbyshire at every level,” commented Paul.

“We hope that this is a ‘journey to excellence’ that will make Derbyshire one of the best Counties in the Midlands and England for junior golf.”

Having spent the past year co-ordinating the Junior Player Pathway Programme and Derbyshire Futures Tour, Alice Lowe takes on the title of Girls Junior Organiser for the DLCGA, and hopes to encourage more girls to develop their golfing talents.

Steve Turner, Director of Golf at Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel and Country Club, is delighted at the news, and wishes the best for the two members during their time with the organisations:

“Here at Breadsall, we’re incredibly keen to support and grow our junior section and welcome young players of all ages and abilities.

Paul and Alice have already done a fantastic job with promoting junior golf, both at the club and within the region; hopefully this will continue with great success through their new roles in the DUGC and DLGAC.”

Set in over 400 acres of beautiful Derbyshire parkland near to the Peak District National Park, Breadsall Priory offers two contrasting 18-hole championship golf courses. Visitors and members alike can enjoy stunning views from the course, enjoy fine cuisine in the award winning Priory Restaurant, and unwind in the spa facilities of Marriott’s oldest hotel worldwide.
