Championship Golf Heads To Tandridge

Tandridge Golf Club near Oxted, Surrey, this week hosted England Golf’s Senior Men’s and Women’s Championships. Club golfers from all over the south of England converged on the excellent Harry Colt course, where rolling parkland and signature bunkering is a constant feature.

England Golf run three Seniors’ tournaments each year for both men and women club golfers – for the South, Midlands and North regions. There are separate men’s and women’s competitions at each venue, with both sections playing their own 36-hole stableford over two days, off handicap.

Winners of the nett Stableford competitions at Tandridge were Ian Redman, from Meon Valley, and Lorraine Twining, from Wrotham Heath. Competitors praised the course and its condition, as well as the smooth organisation of a competitive and sociable event.

Tandridge Golf Club is set among mature woodland with spectacular views of the North Downs, and the countryside of Kent and Sussex. A classic Harry Colt design, the club recently undertook a major restoration project of the bunkering. The resulting course is now presented at its finest.
