La Manga Club Given Top Billing In New Golf Resorts Collection

The five-star La Manga Club resort has added another notable achievement to its ever-evolving history after becoming the first golfing venue in Spain to be invited to join an exclusive new collection of the world’s top 100 golf resorts.

The award-winning sports and leisure destination in Murcia, south-east Spain, is one of an elite group of global resorts to have been selected by the respected Top 100 Golf Courses  website to feature in its new ‘Top 100 Golf Resorts of the World’ section.

Created to showcase the world’s finest golf venues, the prestigious collection features some of the most famous names in the game, with each resort hand-picked to help online visitors to identify with the ultimate in golfing luxury.

As well as offering full details on La Manga Club’s outstanding golf facilities, which include three 18-hole courses and a new golf training centre, the new listing also features extensive information on the resort’s other sports and leisure amenities, bars and restaurants and choice of accommodation that has helped establish it as a firm favourite with golfers worldwide.

Andy Newmarch, of Top 100 Golf Courses, said: “La Manga Club is probably Europe’s most illustrious golf resort, and for good reason.

“The three 18-hole courses are varied, both in terms of challenge and style – while there’s also an 18-hole pitch and putt course designed by Seve Ballesteros, coupled with a world-class practice centre.

“The non-golf facilities are unrivalled, and the accommodation is exceptional in both quality and diversity. Has the original 1970s dream to build the best sports holiday facility in Europe been realised? Absolutely!”

The new accolade is the latest honour to be bestowed on La Manga Club in what has been a momentous year for the resort. Other awards include receiving a Golf Digest ‘Editors’ Choice Award for Best International Resorts 2017’ and being voted ‘Spain’s Best Golf Resort’ by readers of the UK magazine Today’s Golfer for the sixth year in a row – while La Manga Club continues to invest in its golf, sports and leisure facilities.

Set across an area of 1,400 acres, La Manga Club has been at the forefront of European sports and leisure destinations since its inception in 1972.

Featuring three 18-hole golf courses, a nine-hole academy course and outstanding practice facilities, La Manga Club has enjoyed a rich golfing history over the last 45 years, with golfing legends Gary Player, Arnold Palmer and Seve Ballesteros all figuring prominently in its past.
