Super Seven Is Simply Magnificent For La Manga Club

La Manga Club is in seventh heaven after confirming its position at the top of the Spanish golf market by being named as the country’s best golf resort for an amazing seventh year running at the 2018 Today’s Golfer Travel Awards.

The leading sports and leisure destination, in Murcia, has made the award its own over the last decade and was more popular than ever this year, receiving an incredible 55 per cent of the total votes cast by readers of the UK’s best-selling golf magazine.

Regarded as ‘the Oscars’ of the golf industry, the awards celebrate the most prestigious golf venues in Europe, and the latest accolade means that La Manga Club has won the coveted honour every year since it was introduced.

Jose Asenjo, general manager of La Manga Club, said: “It’s always an honour to win any award, but to have been voted as the number one golf resort in Spain seven years in a row is an unbelievable achievement.

“Receiving such a large share of the vote is further evidence of the high regard that La Manga Club continues to be held in with UK golfers and the outstanding five-star experience that we offer to all our guests. This is a fantastic way to mark our 45th anniversary and gives us a great platform to build on over the coming months.”

Kevin Brown, travel editor at Today’s Golfer magazine, said: “With its three golf courses and other facilities, La Manga Club has it all – and  clearly that’s what our readers think.

“To be voted as the favourite hotel/resort in Spain for the seventh year running is a remarkable feat – and thoroughly deserved too – and we would like to offer huge congratulations to everybody at the resort for achieving this ‘Magnificent Seven’.”

Set across 1,400 acres, La Manga Club has been at the forefront of European golf for more than four decades and its extensive golf facilities include three 18-hole golf courses, a nine-hole academy course and an acclaimed Golf Training Centre.

The resort joined a select group of courses in Spain to have been granted royal status by the Spanish royal household this winter after being awarded the title ‘Real Golf La Manga Club’, while recent investment on and off the course has helped it receive a number of other top accolades – including winning ‘Europe’s Leading Luxury Resort & Villas 2017’ at the World Travel Awards Europe and ‘Europe’s Best Golf Venue’ at the 2017 World Golf Awards.

The official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), La Manga Club’s extensive other facilities include a 28-court tennis centre, a new European Cricket Performance Centre and a 2,000sqm Wellness Centre. In addition, it features the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 15 bars and restaurants.
