No Return or No Respect?

Rory McIlroy’s decision to walk off the golf course halfway through the second round of the Honda Classic was the golfing story that dominated the newspapers and internet over the past week. I’m not going to speculate on his wisdom tooth explanation, indeed I’ve never had the misfortune to experience such pain, although I have experienced excruciatingly painful scoring which I suspect was the greater catalyst for his decision. Golf’s Yellow Jersey

Over the weekend, remote control in hand, you may have been flicking between George Michael, Eric Idle et al in the Olympic Closing Ceremony and the altogether less energised PGA Championship at Kiawah Island.  Even if you’d stuck with the former, though, you’ll know by now that Rory McIlroy romped to his second Major at the tender age of just 23.
