A Slice Of Golf Arrives In The City

Visitors to central Edinburgh will feel like they have stepped onto a golf course, later this week, as the ‘Summer of Golf’ comes to St. Andrew’s Square. To celebrate an exciting summer of golf ahead, Scotland’s Golf Coast  are hosting the Golf Coast Village Interactive Zone in St. Andrew’s Square from the 25th – 28th June, 10.00 – 18.00.

There will be a range of activities and challenges for all the family to enjoy, and a great opportunity to win an exclusive trip to Scotland’s Golf Coast. Get tips from the staff at the Nike Performance Fitting Centre at Archerfield Links, who will help sharpen your golf skills; take the challenge of the Gullane Golf Club and Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Long Drive Contest, and kids can get involved with our mini putting area. This will be a fun-filled event, a great taster of golf and you can hear all about the area and the fantastic tournaments taking place this summer – Scotland’s Golf Coast welcomes the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open to Gullane (9-12 July 2015), and the Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Seniors Open to Archerfield Links (27-29 August 2015).

Just a half-hour drive East of Edinburgh, East Lothian is a golfing paradise, featuring 22 must-play golf courses stretching through 30 miles of stunning coastline, golden beaches and rolling countryside. Known as the sunniest and driest part of Scotland it is open for business throughout the year, with a warm welcome awaiting every visitor.

Scotland’s Golf Coast is a truly authentic golfing experience and a celebration of the history of the game. The area not only features the oldest course in the world at Musselburgh Links; but was also the location of the first Ryder Cup played in Scotland in 1973, at Muirfield: a course that inspired Jack Nicklaus to construct Muirfield Village in Ohio.

Scotland’s Golf Coast also has a diverse offering of accommodation to offer golfers, providing the perfect opportunity to rest, relax and unwind before enjoying another round of golf. It is a dream for visiting golfers, with all accommodation providing easy access to golf courses. Golfers will be spoiled for choice with 5-star luxury hotels, family-run bed and breakfasts, self-catering apartments or even centuries-old stately homes all on offer. No matter where you choose to stay you are guaranteed a very warm welcome and an authentic experience.
