Stoke Park ‘Open Day’ Likely To Draw A Crowd

Following the reopening of its historic Colt course to much acclaim, the forthcoming open day at the multi-award-winning, five-star Stoke Park Country Club, Spa & Hotel – on Saturday, May 28 – is likely to be well attended.

Founded in 1908 as the UK’s first country club, Stoke Park – one of just two five AA Red Star golf clubs in England – has a historic 27-hole golf course, designed by the legendary golf architect Harry Colt. And, during the winter of 15/16, every bunker on the first nine-hole loop, known as the Colt course, has undergone major refurbishment to both shape and size, although their renowned strategic positioning remains.

The course reopened to members in April 22, but those attending the membership open day will still be among the first visitors to see just how the much-acclaimed work has framed the layout.

Members join Stoke Park, in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, to take advantage of the unique combination of the traditions of an exclusive members’ club and the best of today’s sporting, leisure, entertaining and hotel facilities.

In addition to the golf course, those facilities include 13 tennis courts, comprising indoor, grass and floodlit artificial clay – as used by many of the world’s top players, such as Novak Djokovic, during the annual Boodles tournament; an award-winning spa; indoor pool; state-of-the-art gymnasium; fitness, hot yoga and spinning studios; three restaurants, including the three AA Rosette-winning Humphry’s; and 49 bedrooms and suites.

With seven-day golf membership held at only £3,500pa, and gym membership £148 per month, there’s never been a better time to allow you to fulfil that ambition of becoming a member at one of the UK’s leading country clubs – though memberships are limited.

Director of golf Stuart Collier said: “We had a very well-attended open day earlier this year and visitors seemed overwhelmingly impressed by what they saw – and that was before we reopened the Colt course, which has been very well received by our members. So we hope we will receive the same feedback from prospective members on May 28.”

Set within 300 acres of beautiful private parkland estate in Stoke Poges, Bucks, Stoke Park is only 35 minutes from London and seven miles from Heathrow Airport. And guests attending the open day will benefit from an exclusive discount offer to join the club.
